Welcome Midwest Fiction Writers!

Have you ever spilled your guts to a stranger on bench, bus or some other random place?  Why did you do that?  You may not even know.  It might because you needed to release and for some reason the look on their face made you feel safe.  Crazy huh?  Not really.  There are those people in the world, sadly there isn’t an overabundance of them, then again that might be a good thing.

Pulling into oneself is a reactionary way of protecting yourself.  You can only stuff so much into a suitcase before it pops open and your clothes will be littering the floor.  Much like verbally vomiting on you some poor stranger this could be avoided if you just talked your way through your issues.  But who really does that?  Lord knows I could never do that and neither does Rachel, my character in Her Stranger.

In this short story we find Rachel trying to work through her grief by fixing up her cabin on Fawn Lake when a stranger appears.  Soon he’s becoming Her Stranger, but how has he broke through her protective barrier and how can he heal her?  Both are answered in my short story and the best part of this anthology is there are seventeen short stories perfect for that upcoming vacation where you may only get an hour here or there…plenty of time to learn how a stranger knocking at the door can help a grieving widow release her pain.

Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, and just as many love stories. Love in the Land of Lakes brings you seventeen of these stories, from two childhood sweethearts connecting on the end of a dock on a warm summer's evening, to a city boy's chaotic weekend at his girlfriend's primitive cabin. We bring you the story of a savvy horse who leads her owner to love in post–Civil War farm country, and the haunting romance of an ageless gambler who inhabits a historic riverboat and charms the boat's new owner.
A kaleidoscope of sunshine, snowstorms, and thunderstorms grace our contemporary, mystery, historical, and paranormal stories as the authors of Midwest Fiction Writers spin lovely romances that will send you drifting into happily ever afters.
